Freedom of the press, freedom of speech... these frazes are so overused and cliche perhaps I should delete them from the introduction to this thought.... perhaps one last time.Reviewed the 'Time' article on Ann Coulter, and the analysis on AOL...
Here is the MoreThenCorn analysis;
John Cloud of Time writes "...Coulter epitomizes the way politics is now discussed on the airwaves, where opinions must come violently fast and cause as much friction as possible. No one, right or left, delivers the required apothegmatic commentary on the world with as much glee or effectiveness as Coulter. It is almost impossible to watch her and not be sluiced into rage or elation, depending on your views..."
The Time article is hopelessly tilted. Mr Cloud does not seem to know 'airwave' media nor Ann Coulter as well as he thinks. The airwaves are filled with an assortment of personalities. Most I would dare say are objective and reasonable, but also passionate. The article misses to see the difference between passion and animalistic rage.Ann Coulter is someone who can get her listeners worked into a figurative roar. MoreThenCorn has listened to Coulter recently. She holds the audience attention through bursts of humor for the righties to laugh and the lefties to snarl their teeth. She only gives her opinion with which many can say to themselves, "I concur, Ann!" Some probably listen to her for entertainment value. She does pretty well in this area.
There was hardly a paragraph in the Time article which did not attempt to denigrate Anne Coulter, and suggest what the reader should think of her. To go one step further, Mr. Cloud made attempts to pursuade readers to his opinion of many conservative figures in media. Read the article and decide for yourself.
My own attempts are fruitless to persuade readers of Mr Clouds inability to be objective. You may realize this on your own.
