Americans Working Harder and Faster

Before checking my personal email each day I will run through the Yahoo news links. I usually key in on on headlines where there is room for an agenda to be published. Today's was
an article concerning a America's Productivity.

I am not surprised when I read a Yahoo published news article if there is an agenda. Granted Yahoo does not have any paid reporters and journalists of their own, however someone at Yahoo with a title of News Editor or News Funneler is the one who decides which topics are important in the news and then decides which articles best represent and cover the topic. Many articles Yahoo finds are objective. However if they have an agenda they will often lean left of center.

The above article does just this... It points to American's feeling rushed and are not getting as much done as they used to in a day. The article vaguely explains the reason as being more work is being added to the plate of Americans therefore relative to work load, we are getting less done. However the article is not shed a light on the American productivity which has been rising steadily for as long as records have been kept. A good indicator of this are numerous economic factors of which can be found at the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

The most obvious is from 1st Quarter 2004 through 1st Quarter 2005 the GNP rose nearly 10.03%. The percentage growth in just the last year by volume is more than an entire years production in nearly all of our country's history.

Someone who reads this article may think the American worker and therefore the United States is struggling. Nope. These are good times. Thanks Ronald Reagan.
